Minus a disheartening story involving a slain young adult and their product, Beats By Dre has been making tremendous headlines this last quarter of 2013.

Early this morning, December 5, they pulled the cover off their new music streaming venture, Beats Music and announced it will open for business at the top of 2014.

To enjoy the service, there’s been plenty of new products such as wireless headphones and limited edition hardware to be released in the past few weeks.

But wait, there’s more.

The Beats Pill is a portable speaker with Bluetooth capabilities that will surely come in handy with the Beats Music streaming. And who better to promote it than in-house superstars, Dr. Dre and Kendrick Lamar.

As of late the duo haven’t done much together outside of 2012’s good kid, m.A.A.d City but they reunite for a quick yet informative commercial spot where they also sneak in a preview of a new song possibly specifically created for the ad. As a frantic melody with whizzing synthesizers blares out the speakers, Kendrick serves up his usual special of staccato flow with a venomous growl. They also show off the XL’s capabilities of being able to communicate with another Pill similar to a walkie-talkie.

A keen eye also spotted #Detox2014 hashtag in the YouTube description but no need to color it late to the party just yet. We’ll have to see that 10th wonder in a physical jewel case before it’s actually believed.
