There’s been a steady trend for rappers to solve gripes with their respective record labels by threatening to leak their material. Today, we saw that threat become a reality when Angel Haze offered up Dirty Gold via Soundcloud free of charge.

This ballsy act, of course, was preceded by a barrage of tweets. The first came nearly a day before the rant, and now reads like a serious case of foreshadowing. “Frustration is building. Growing wildly out of control,” Haze tweeted.

Hours later, she continued, “It’s so annoying that my label could tell me that if I f**king finished my album before the summer it would be out this year.” This was followed by a testimonial that detailed Haze’s intentions to please her fans first and to give a middle finger the man for holding her music.

Needless to say that Island/Republic Records isn’t pleased. Dirty Gold has been taken off Haze’s Soundcloud page, but the Internets have already gotten their mitts on the record.  See the tweets on the following pages.
