It’s been a long time coming, but Lil Boosie will finally step foot on free terrain sooner than you think. Per a report by NOLA, the Baton Rouge rapper only has about eight more months to serve in his sentence.

Back in September, Boosie’s lawyer expected him to do just five or six more months at most. However, that didn’t go as planned. He’s now set to be released on August 18, 2014.

Unlike past coverage, this isn’t hearsay. Boosie, born Torrence Hatch, is now listed with the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections to be freed on the aforementioned date.

Lil Boosie was incarcerated in 2009 for marijuana possession and a parole violation. He plead guilty in 2011 after being caught attempting to smuggle drugs into the Louisiana State Penitentiary.

If all goes as planned, there won’t be any need for fans to chant “Free Lil Boosie!” this time next year.
