Recording artists have many hustles. Clothing companies, liquor brands, mobile apps, restaurant chains and the list goes on. Another popular route is to go corporate.

Besides selling millions of copies of their work, many artists aspire to eventually create their own personal empire. Earlier today, January 8, DJ Drama of the famed Gangsta Grillz mixtape series announced he would be joining the Atlantic Records A&R staff.

But many rappers and even a couple of singers have taken desk jobs in hopes of diversifying their brands.
