Epic Records, in conjunction with the Estate of Michael Jackson, will release on May 13, XSCAPE, a new album by the King of Pop.

The posthumous project is a collection of new music that features eight Michael Jackson classics that have been revamped to sound more contemporary.

XSCAPE, which is curated by Epic Records Chairman and CEO L.A. Reid, will be available as both standard and deluxe editions. The latter includes Michael Jackson recordings in their original form.

“Modern music and artistry would look and sound completely different if not for the groundbreaking contributions Michael Jackson gifted to the world,” said Reid in a press statement. “Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with. We are extremely proud and honored to present this music to the world.”

The XSCAPE standard and deluxe editions are available for pre-order starting April 1 on iTunes, and at all retailers worldwide on May 13.
