Method Man and Redman have teamed up with Against Da’ Grain (ADG) to offer local children free hair cuts in time for Easter.

Method Man and Redman, who both are clients of ADG, decided to partake in the annual event to provide neighborhood kids, who are 12 years of age and under, a way to look their “Sundays best”, even if their parents can’t afford for them to this year due to economic woes.

“Whether it’s free haircuts or family style BBQ’s, ADG is always looking for ways to reward its customers and I’m always down to celebrate their community efforts”, explained Redman.

ADG states that the event is definitely not anything new, but it has garnered so much attention that it has gained the support of not just the community, but the entire city.

“Against Da’ Grain is a local business that’s committed to community reinvestment.” explained Tariq Nafis Zaid, Managing Partner of Against Da’ Grain. “A community that has helped cultivate business leaders and foster lasting traditions. ‘ADG Kids Cuts Day’ is a prime example of how a simple idea can blossom into a community tradition.”

“Considering last year’s overwhelming participation and appreciation from our customers, we have now expanded our offerings to provide both boys and girls styling services, as well as our footprint to include both ADG locations”, explained Sean White, Against Da’ Grain CEO.

In addition to Method Man and Redman, 106 & Park’s DJ Megatron, is scheduled to appear as well as other Staten Island artists to speak to kids.

The ADG ‘Kids Cuts Day’ is scheduled to take place on Saturday April 3, 2010 between 12:00pm to 5:00pm. All hair cuts are on a first come, first served basis and will be held at the following ADG locations:

West Brighton, located at 821 Castleton Avenue

and the flagship location, located at:

61 Victory Blvd (formerly the Wu-Tang/Wu-Wear Store)
