MC Ren and Ice Cube have created musical magic together outside of the N.W.A before and 2014 seems to be as good as time as any to try to duplicate that gangsta feeling.

Since real musicians don’t retire, MC Ren is creeping on a comeback, most recently showing that he can still be volatile well into his 40s on the aggressive record, “Rebel Music.” To keep the momentum going, he’s called upon his forever homie Ice Cube to add some ether to the remix. Like he’s known to do in all his metamorphosis from actor back to rapper, Cube obliged with the greatest of ease.

The end result is a double-timed flow with disses to Donald Sterling and supreme militancy. MC Ren holds his own, especially on the catchy chorus, proving that he hasn’t lost his existing skills even with the extended absence.
