Lil Durk was expected impact Hip-Hop in a major way long before he was crowned a XXL Freshman. As fans await the rapper’s Signed to the Streets 2 mixtape, he debuts a new song from the project called “I Go” for their listening pleasure.
The Chicago native is at his best when his melodies are spot-on. He hasn’t quiet mastered that ability like, say, a Future, but he’s right on the money this time around.
Premiered by Power 106’s L.A. Leakers, the record has a nice bounce to it. Durk packages his street bars into couplets that can be easily broken down and remembered. Listeners will be chanting, “Wherever I go, they go,” before they know it.
Durk’s Signed to the Streets 2 mixtape releases tomorrow (July 4). Stream “I Go” below.
