Killer Mike has always been an outspoken individual whether it’s delivered through his music or while being on the front lines for his community. He made a very memorable appearance on The Breakfast Club.
For the last couple of weeks Mike has been very vocal about the uprising in Ferguson, Missouri. His feedback has been so well received that some top tier publications Spin and Billboard have picked it up.
DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God picked his brain on topics ranging from police brutality, voting, civil rights and more.

1. Envy
We were surprised to hear that DJ Envy and Killer Mike are actually very close. Who would have thought?
2. Son Of A Gun
Did you know Mike’s father was a police officer?
3. Voting
Mike is an advocate of voting, specifically in the local elections. He feels if you are not apart of fixing the problem then you should move out of the United States.
4. The Swag Shop
Mike and his wife own their own barbershop called the Swag Shop in Atlanta. Ironically they were turned away when they originally applied for the commercial lease in the West End  because of the stereotypes that come with barbershop clientele. Luckily they called to their city council and got their chance.
5. Study
Killer Mike has studied the philosophies of Pan Africanism, Nation Of Islam, Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King and many more to formulate his opinion on world issues.
6. The Lou
Mike encourages the Hip-Hop community to stay in tune with Ferguson through local St. Louis rappers including Tef Poe and Rockwell Knuckles for real time reporting on what is happening on the streets.
7. Rights
Mike thinks that our country is separated by categories of race, finances and social status that we have forgotten that as Americans we are all promised rights enforced by the The Constitution.
8. Research
Mike also suggests that Americans need to be more informed on their rights as a citizen so they can exhibit better compassion towards the human rights of others.
9. Alice Johnson
A woman named Alice Johnson from Chicago who helped the coal mining community in Virginia taught Mike how to organize on a grass roots level.
10. Chicago
Mike is disgusted by the ongoing killings in Chicago but thinks we need to fix out government in order for the police to stop slaughtering us.
