It seems that Wale’s new management situation is already proving itself to be worth the retainer. The Maybach Music Group member is already seeing some advancement in his long anticipated fourth studio effort, The Album About Nothing.

The concept is derived from his claim to fame free project, The Mixtape About Nothing and Wale is upping the ante with its retail counterpart. The dramatic three-minute clip finds the D.C. native embracing his documented mistakes (most notably the Complex phone call meltdown)

“I’ve been doing a good amount of soul searching and I feel like I’m an emotional rollercoaster these days,” Wale honestly–and accurately admits as the video’s narrator. “But the question is; have a lost my people? Fans; the irreplaceable bond that comes along with being able to tap into things that only me and them can connect with. Tell me ‘I ain’t lost that,'” he ponders. The video also highlights various screenshots that summarize the daily criticism the once-consciously identified MC gets now that he’s deeply associated with Rick Ross and Meek Mill.

But the album trailer’s biggest surprise is its prominent guest star: Jerry Seinfeld. Things fade to black as the famous comedian is shown recording material for the album. The aforementioned mixtape’s theme revolved around the Seinfeld television serious (read: nonsensical) and it appears fans are in for a true cinematic listening experience.

Check out the trailer for The Album About Nothing below. As it stands, it’s “coming soon.”
