DJ Clark Kent is many things–a renowned producer, an in-demand DJ and sneaker collecting deity, to name a few. But one trait that sticks about this proud Brooklyn native is how humble he remains despite a resume that makes the average “influencer” look like a part-time intern in comparison.

For example, he didn’t tell us he happened to be managing BMX biker Nigel Sylvester until after our interview concluded. There is also his popular Quickstrike series at Complex or his gracious habit of giving away choice sneakers coveted by collectors to the oblivious, just because he can.

But what Clark did mention was the who, what, where and why behind some of his most seminal Hip-Hop creations like Original Flavor’s “Can I Get Open,” which featuring an up and coming MC named Jay Z and Junior Mafia’s “Get Money,” that put this rapper named Lil’ Kim in the spotlight.

Peep the knowledge dropped in part one of our sit down with Brooklyn’s own DJ Clark Kent. We couldn’t think of a better subject for our inaugural segment of “On The Record.”
