Longtime actress Raven-Symoné finally addressed her lesbian relationship during a sit-down with Oprah Winfrey yesterday (Oct. 5), but that was far from the apex of their conversation.
As the former Cosby Show star reveled in her personal life, she began to renounce any sexuality label saying “”I don’t want to be labeled ‘gay.’ I want to be labeled ‘a human who loves humans.'” Things were taken several steps further when she blurred the color lines and told Oprah, “I’m tired of being labeled; I’m an American. I’m not an African-American; I’m an American.”
Ms. Winfrey immediately used her eternal gift of foresight and feigned a heart attack, telling her “Oh, girl…Don’t set up the Twitter on fire!”–but the damage had been done. Black Twitter rolled up their collective sleeves and proceeded to highlight where they felt Raven’s thought process was flawed.
