Sub Saharan Africa
AIDS is nowhere more prevalent than in Subsaharan Africa. Over 24.7 million are infected in the region. More than 1 million became infected last year, and over 1.1 million adults & children died from AIDS in 2013, which totals to 73 % of the world’s AIDS deaths last year.
South Africa is the country with the most cases of people living with HIV/AIDS at 5 million. However, Swaziland has the largest percentage of AIDS cases at 26% percent of the population.
