A FedEx driver is in stable condition after being shot on the job in Memphis Thursday (Dec. 18) afternoon. The victim was hit while driving an 18-wheeler truck for the delivery company.

Reports My Fox Memphis:

The shooting took place on Holmes near Malone in South Memphis at around 4:40 p.m.

Police are looking for a gray or silver 2002 Chrysler Town & Country minivan with Tennessee license plate 633-YKY and a Black male, about 35-40 years of age and wearing a Dallas Cowboys jacket.

The FedEx employee who was shot in the leg was rushed to Regional One initially in critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable condition.

Crime scene investigators said they are focused on the passenger door and window of the 18-wheeler.

“We need some kind of change here in Memphis,” said a neighbor who lives near the shooting scene. “He just doing his job, he wasn’t expecting that. Now his family has to suffer tonight.”

Police are still looking for the suspect, and have not determined a motive.

“Thoughts and concerns” were extended to the injured employee, FedEx said in a statement noting, “This is a law enforcement matter and we are cooperating fully with the investigation. Any questions should be directed to them.”
