Bill Cosby is facing over two dozen sexual assault allegations, and hopes to fight back with the help of private investigators, New York Post‘s “Page Six” reports.

Recognizing the gravity of the accusations, Cosby is said to have dished out a six-figure fee to a fleet of PI’s in hopes of discovering that his accusers have deplorable character traits. A source revealed that the actor and comedian hired at least one firm based in Glendale, Calif. with a staff of a half-dozen former LAPD officers.

“If you’re going to say to the world that I did this to you, then the world needs to know, What kind of person are you? Who is this person that’s saying it?,” said Cosby, according to a source (it’s unclear if the sources are the same).

“You can’t say that I put something in your coffee, threw you in a cab and then you go on and live a high-profile life, a famous life and you never complain,” Cosby supposedly continued, citing supermodel Beverly Johnson, who publicly accused him of drugging her back in the 1980s and sending her home in a cab to fend for herself.

So far, the investigation is said to have provided info on the likes of Johnson, whose former live-in beau claims “she only had good things to say about Cosby.”

Cosby’s attorney Martin Singer declined to confirm whether or not his client enlisted the services of PI’s. He did however say, “You [the media] don’t need private investigators to find out information about the accusers. A simple Google search will obtain the information.”
