In 2014, it was the Year of the Stan Smith, and this year the equally iconic adidas Superstar appears to be the apple of the sportswear maker’s eye. So much so that sponsored artists and athletes Pharrell Williams, David Beckham, Rita Ora, and Portland Trailblazers star Damian Lillard were called to star in a short film coined #OriginalSuperstar.
Each a force in their respective fields, the foursome go down a list of archetypal characteristics of what a superstar is, only to admit a surprising truth at the end.
In addition to the clip, adidas Originals unveiled the Superstar “Vintage Deluxe” pack, featuring black, green, navy and scarlet red colorways of the iconic silhouette. Each sneaker’s upper is constructed of boot leather.
