“What’s really a bitter divorce?”
Kelis is speaking on a topic that’s surrounded her name for much of the last two years, her divorce from rapper Nas.
The singer who recently signed to Will.i.am’s record label and whose Flesh Tone album drops July 6th, says that she’s moved on from her relationship with the Queensbridge emcee and is now dating someone else.
In an interview with gossip blogger Perez Hilton, Kelis denies that her separation from Nas was “bitter” but when asked if they were friendly toward one another, she responded “Sometimes.”
She also went on to deny that they were at one point trying to get back together and confirmed that she’s in a new relationship.
When asked if her new beau is famous, she calmly replied “It depends on who you’re asking.”
As previously reported fans of Nasir Jones were outraged when he was quoted saying that his ex was making it “hell” to see their young son Knight.
He told VIBE,
“My son was born with ice grills, so when his mom feels in the mood she sends pictures. If not, it’s hell. It’s hell trying to figure that out, trying to get him—I’ll just leave it at that. It’s hell. A man shouldn’t go through that s**t, but it’s another story I’ma tell at a different time.”
The two were officially divorced on May 25th and Nas was ordered to pay her close to $300,000 in attorney fees, accounting expenses and spousal support in addition to $10,000 in child support payments.
Nas also had a tattoo of the singer removed and dissed her on his track “Strong Will Continue” with Damian Marley.
