There’s an old saying: if you wouldn’t make her a wife, don’t make her a mother. Unfortunately, too many rappers either didn’t get the memo…or got the memo too late.

No matter how big — or small — the rapper is in the business, he’s going to be subjected to his fair share of baby mama drama, especially if he doesn’t think before he sees pink. Here, then, is our list of rappers who have suffered through baby mama drama. Let this be a lesson to you.

15. Future

The rapper’s “f*cking up of commas” doesn’t come from bands on bands on bands…it comes from loving bad b*tches without protection. At 30 years old, Nayvadius Cash has four kids with four baby mamas (most famously, Ciara), and all four of them take turns throwing shade at one another on social media sites…because, apparently, whoever has custody of the community penis on that day is “winning.”

14. 50 Cent

BooBoo only has two baby mamas — and the kids are more than 15 years apart — but it seems he has issues with both of them. The first one, Shaniqua Tompkins (the mother of his elder son, Marquise), accused him of everything from being a deadbeat dad to burning down her house. The second one, Daphne Joy (the mother of his younger son, Sire), filed charges against him for beating her up.

13. Nas

Like 50, Nas has two kids with two baby mamas. His second one, singer Kelis, recently dragged him for filth through the courts of law…but you would have thought he would have learned his lesson after his first one, Carmen Bryan, wrote a poor man’s version of Confessions of a Video Vixen, in which she claimed she was single-handedly responsible for Nas’s legendary beef with Jay-Z. Girl…

12. DMX

Aside from his myriad of other legal troubles, DMX has eleven (!) children total with four different women…including four with his now-ex-wife, Tashera Simmons, with whom he appeared on VH1’s Couples Therapy.

11. French Montana

Khloe Kardashian’s ex-boo was recently dragged for filth throughout the Hip-Hop press by his now-ex-wife, Nadeen Kharpouch, with whom he has a four-year-old son. Nadeen claimed that the rapper preferred to spend time with Khloe and Trina than with his boy. HAAAAAN!

10. Rick Ross

Rap’s walrus & sworn enemy of 50 Cent has one thing in common with him: baby mama drama. His baby mama, Tia, teamed up with 50 to do the former corrections officer every level of dirty that culminated with the release of her sex tape with a “G-Unit affiliate”…narrated by 50 Cent. WUH!

9. Layzie Bone

Not even the greats are safe from the drama. Layzie Bone of Bone Thugs N’Harmony, who is a married man, recently found out that he was the father of a one-year-old child…with a woman that’s not his wife. (Oops!) The mother took him to court, where he was declared the father by default because he didn’t respond to the filing within 30 days.

8. Kool G Rap

Speaking of which…four children, four baby mamas…and one of his baby mamas is Superhead. Were it not for that, we’d never have even heard of this bird. Thanks, G Rap. Nuff said.

7. Master P

This one’s just a tragedy: after 20 years of marriage, Master P’s wife filed for divorce. In her complaint, she alleged that the No Limit capo was not only a deadbeat father, but forced her to go on welfare. S.M.H.!

6. Ludacris

For a minute there, it looked like the “Act A Fool” rapper-turned-actor was safe from the baby mama drama. Even though he had a daughter, Karma, it seemed as though his relationship with his attorney baby mama was pleasant enough for the sake of the little girl. And, the Disturbing Tha Peace general is currently expecting a child with his now-wife, medical student Eudoxie Agnan. Unfortunately, he slipped up and got a ratchet, Tameka Fuller, pregnant during a “break” from Eudoxie…who subsequently dragged him through the courts, the press, and the social media courts of public opinion…because she’s classy like that, and because she “cares about the welfare of her child.”

5. Chief Keef

He’s too damn young for this mess…according to court papers, Keef fathered a child in 2011, when he was barely 16 years old. At the culmination of the court proceedings, Keef was ordered to pay his baby moms $2600 a month in child support, $500 a month in day care, and $10,400 in back child support. Ouch!

4. Scarface

The Crown Prince of Houston rap owed $125,000 in back child support payments…and he served almost a year in jail for the delinquency. No problem!

3. ODB

May God rest this man’s soul, but he wasn’t kidding when he said he “liked it raw.” Wu-Tang’s Clown Prince fathered a total of thirteen children with an untold number of women…that we know of. He even served a little bit of time in 1997 for failure to pay support on three of the known 13. And you know you had a problem keeping it in your pants when your son, the appropriately-named YDB, makes the following public statement: “I’d rather be sober and continue his legacy. I do the opposite of everything he did. I don’t smoke, don’t drink, and I’m learning how to have less babies.”

2. Shawty Lo

This man has had just as many labels as he’s had baby mamas…and the ratchetry culminated with the show, All My Baby Mamas, which was briefly featured on Oxygen. You know you’re the height of ratchet when you’re too ratchet for Oxygen…home of The Bad Girls Club. Think about that.

1. Flavor Flav

The OG, one of the greatest of all time, and one-half of the influential Public Enemy…but the reason Flavor Flav made the top of this list is not because he has the most ratchet baby mama drama, or even the most number of kids…but because he was the first one to really have baby mama drama play out in the mainstream consciousness, and with the most heart-rending drama. He has seven children with three baby mamas…the most recent child with Liz Trujillo, with whom he appeared on VH1’s Couples Therapy. On the show, Liz (who was 39 to Flav’s 54) announced she was expecting their second child (and Flav’s eighth). However, shortly thereafter, Liz was hospitalized for “an emergency.” It’s unclear whether she gave birth.

Bernadette Giacomazzo has no kids and, therefore, no baby daddy drama. Talk to her on Twitter at @berngiacomazzo and on Instagram at @KBPRFirm.
