Last week, an advertising photoshoot featuring Saint Beyonce was “leaked”…and the Photoshop-free versions of Mrs. Carter’s photos created an uproar.

Now, we’re not particularly sure why that is — certainly, Beyonce is pretty with or without the Photoshop; and the fact that she’s, well, normal like the rest of us shouldn’t be too shocking — but not long after the photos were posted, they were taken down by the BeyHive, with the statement that “some of the things we have seen posted were just horrible, and we don’t want any parts of it. We were just posting the photos to share the fact that our queen is naturally beautiful, at the same time she is just a regular woman.”

The “Ring the Alarm” singer isn’t the first one to cause an uproar with her photos. Here, then, is our list of celebrities whose au naturel photos caused a stir.

15. Kim Kardashian

Mrs. Kanye West is, these days, known for letting the little lady flap in the breeze for Prada (hey, it’s art), but back when she did her first nude shoot for Harper’s Bazaar, her unretouched photos created an uproar. Unbothered, Kim released the following statement: “the message of [this shoot] is to embrace your curves and who you are!”

14. Jessica Simpson

The tween pop tartlet-turned-football wife created quite the stir when she appeared on the cover of Marie Claire magazine without makeup and without Photoshop to promote her new show, The Price of Beauty. She still looked cute though.

13. Britney Spears

The former teen star is all grown up now, yet for some reason, when she released her unretouched photos from her Candies campaign, it caused a stir. To Candies’ credit, the two photos only had subtle differences between them.

12. Claudia Schiffer

The supermodel went topless, makeup-less, and airbrush-less when she posed for the cover of Tank Magazine a few years ago. This created a bit of buzz, not because of her face — she’s still beautiful after all these years — but because her body was too thin for many people’s liking.

11. Cate Blanchett

The Oscar winning actress created a controversy in the United Kingdom when, shortly after her airbrushed photos for SK-II beauty products premiered, her au naturel photos appeared on the cover of Intelligent Life.

10. Penelope Cruz

Shortly after the Spanish bombshell had her baby, her unretouched photos surfaced…showing a fuller figure and an uneven cleavage…but still a beautiful face!

9. Jessica Alba

When the Latina bombshell did a Campari campaign, she was so embarrassed by the photos being retouched to the point that she looked nearly anorexically skinny, she released the unretouched photos herself!

8. Madonna

Here’s the thing: Madonna is nearly 60 years old. Without the use of Photoshop, she’s going to look her age. Why, and how, this is shocking, we have no idea.

7. Jamie Lee Curtis

In 2002, Hollywood scion—and former Activia spokesmodel—Jamie Lee Curtis was the first to buck the Photoshop trend when, in a spread for More magazine, she showed off her “true body.” In fact, her More spread even went so far as to show the before and after effects of Photoshop!

6. Cameron Diaz

The actress has been known to demand Photoshop to even out her blotchy skin and flabby stomach. Still, her unretouched photos still cause a water cooler conversation every time they happen!

5. Eva Mendes

With or without Photoshop, Eva Mendes is gorgeous. However, in her early days, even she wasn’t immune to the Photoshop gods…so when her Photoshopped cover of Russian Cosmopolitan came out, folks were (rightly) upset!

4. Katy Perry

Unretouched versions of the “Fireworks” singer’s cover of Rolling Stone recently surfaced, and they show her as less busty…and less toned…than the magazine would have you believe!

3. Keira Knightly

The waif-like British actress and Oscar nominee had to have her teeny bust “enhanced” in the promotional shots for the movie King Arthur.

2. Kate Winslet

On the other end of the spectrum is the Reuben-esque Titanic actress, who took GQ to task in 2003 when they Photoshopped her cover shot to make her look taller and thinner. “The retouching is excessive,” Winslet said. “I do not look like that and, more importantly, I don’t desire to look like that.”

1. Andy Roddick

We chose this entry as the number one entry to show that not even the men are safe from the horrors of Photoshop. When tennis star Andy Roddick appeared on the cover of Men’s Fitness, he was made to look bulkier and tanner than he really is. In addition, the editors removed the chocolate-colored birthmark from his arm. The change was so drastic that Roddick wrote about it on his blog. “I’m pretty sure I’m not as fit as the Men’s Fitness cover suggests. I can barely figure out how to work the red-eye tool on my digital camera. Whoever did this has mad skills,” he wrote.
