In the hit 2012 movie, Think Like a Man, Tarjai P. Henson portrays a well-off, enterpreniual businesswoman who attracts a dreamy-eyed Michael Ealy who feels he has to lie about his chef occupation just to date her.

According to the 44-year-old Empire star, art is imitiating life for her latest role as the fiesty Cookie Lyon has would-be suitors acting like middle schoolers on their first crush when it comes to dating her.

“I think the more successful you get, the more intimidated [men] get, because they feel like they can’t approach me,” she tells Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier. “Or they’re afraid to approach me.”

The recording-breaking FOX Hip-Hop soap opera has already generated a huge fan base in just its inaugural season and has Henson poised to potentially make history as the first Black woman to win an Emmy Award for lead actress in a drama series. Yet and still, Cookie needs nookie.

“[A relationship] will come when I’m ready for it,” she admitted.
