Erykah Badu’s first ever appearance on The Breakfast Club wasn’t nothing short of eventful, even if it was at her own mythical pace.
With a mixtape on the horizon, three famous baby daddies and an entire new generation to enthrall, the Baduizm could be felt in the building to the highest power.
Check out the highlights from Erykah Badu on The Breakfast Club in the gallery below.

The Ever Reclusive Badu
“Being around a lot of people is weird to me,” the jazzy R&B singer says, giving weight to the notion that she is indeed a reserved person.
Tyrone
You know Erykah Badu’s classic record, “Tyrone” from her 1997 Live album? Well that was a complete freestyle. Like Charlamagne said, what weed were she smoking that day and why isn’t on the open market? It’s also her biggest record.
Azealia Banks
The infamous Twitter battle with a one Azealia Banks actually wasn’t supposed to happen. “I didn’t know she would even read it,” Badu admitted.

Rap Magnet
Badu jokes that you must have “a hot 16” to breed with her as it’s no secret she has children with Andre 3000, The D.O.C. and Jay Electronica. She even calls the relationships “marriages of sorts.” She also encouraged them to be themselves; meaning she had no control over any of them (Common included) going all bohemian with the outfits.

Common
The urban legend goes that Common got a phone call from Badu during their early 00s relationship telling it was over. Badu finally got to clear the air and says she actually tried to break up with him several times but the light-skin in him didn’t want to accept the end.

We’re Just Earthly People
DJ Envy tested his preconceptions about “earthy people” to Badu and what was discovered was, she doesn’t always shave wayward hair; she doesn’t rock with chew sticks but likes crystal rock deodorant (with three-day wear) and prefers missionary sex (because it’s the safest way).

Grown Man
Kids tend to grow up and believe it or not, Badu’s first-born son, Seven Sirius Benjamin is now 18-years-old. She says he’s extremely talented musically, but prefers to be involved with computers and science.
Drizzy
Speaking of Seven, back when he was in sixth grade, Badu asked Drake to come to her son’s school seeing that he was a big fan–and the Canadian rapper obliged. Today, they are still in connection.
Jay Electronica
Guess who made a cameo appearance? The same guy who doesn’t have to pay child support but gets threatened all of the time. She also gave him a pass from releasing an album. SMH.
