Tyrese recently shuttered his respectable music career to focus more of his obligations as a parent. And his eight-year-old daughter Shayla couldn’t be any more beneficial from the manuever.
During yesterday’s GQ’s Men of the Year party at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, ET’s Kevin Frazier grilled Tyrese on how big he was going with the Santa Claus duties this year. While he didn’t want to give too much away seeing that his daughter is old enough to find him on television, he did reveal that he recently put shame to any pony or hoverboard a typical rich kid may be receiving this Christmas.
“Well, I just bought my daughter an island,” he said.”Can’t say [where],” he continued. “She knows all about it and the island is called Love Island. I’ll be putting it up on my Facebook soon.”
Earlier this year, Tyrese was part of the fifth-highest-grossing film of all time in Furious 7, so it’s safe to say he has to cash to spare. Even when it comes to such an incredibly lavish gift of a lifetime. The R&B star/actor also isn’t limited to just giving gifts to his immediate family. At the beginning of the school year, he paid for a Compton teen’s tuition as he entered his first year at Morehouse.
