‘Survivor’s Remorse’ Season 3 Episode 3 Recap: “The Thank You Note” - Page 2
Cassie brushes off the suggestion, saying that M-Chuck has been crazy her entire life and needs to pray it off. This dialogue is an interesting riff on the stigma of mental health issues within black families. M-Chuck reached her frustration boiling point while recording Cassie’s new podcast when she asked a question about her estranged father. Cam convinced Cassie to go to counseling with M-Chuck as her questions deserved answers and her emotional state shouldn’t be disregarded.
Some of the best scenes in Survivor’s Remorse show the family engaged in group conversation. Their discussion on the humanity of hunting and fishing exhibited all aspects of family discussion, from the know-it-alls to the comic relief. Where else will you hear a family talk about pheasant, caveman practices, and whether fish have the capacity to feel due to the size of their brain?!
