Atlanta rapper Kap G stopped by HipHopWired to talk about what he’s been up to since the success of his hit single “Girlfriend.”
After a couple of years of bubbling under the radar, Mexican-American rapper Kap G made a his first big mark on music map with his song “Girlfriend” this past spring which was followed by “Don’t Need Em” featuring Young Thug. While many may have recognized him from his 2012 online hit “Tatted Like Some Migos” with Chief Keef, it wasn’t until he dropped his DJ Drama-hosted mixtape El Southside earlier this year that the masses really started to take notice.
It didn’t hurt that he had a pretty memorable role in the movie DOPE last year either.
HHW caught up Kap to talk about the new music he’s making with Pharell, the direction his music is going in now and how he’s adjusting to celebrities promoting his music.
