adidas introduced its new Athletics line in New York City with NBA stars Andrew Wiggins and Joakim Noah in the gear along with a star-studded party featuring Metro Boomin’ and Fetty Wap. With adidas Athletics, the brand will be dropping apparel meant to be rocked seamlessly before, during and after competition.
The keystone of the adidas Athletics category is the Z.N.E. Hoodie. The pre-game piece is built to remove any excess distractions to get you locked in and ready to go. Made of heavyweight cotton, the hood is designed to fit headphones easily if need be along with other tailored elements that will make it a wardrobe favorite.
“I plan to rock it when it’s cold outside obviously, you know Minnesota gets cold,” Timberwolves star forward Andre Wiggins told Hip-Hop Wired. “They designed this hoodie to help focus—have less distractions and stuff like that. So game day, I’m naturally a quiet guy, I like to keep to myself. If the hoodie can hide me, then that’s a positive for me.”
The adidas Z.N.E. Hoodies officially launches September 7 in white, ice blue, collegiate navy, black, and olive cargo for men and white, black, blue, red, vapour steel and collegiate navy for women. They’ll run you $100 at adidas stores, adidas.com and retails outlets like Champs, Kith, Dick’s Sporting Goods and more.
Wiggins, who was rocking a pair of his adidas Crazy Explosive PEs, and his young teammates which include Zach LaVine and Karl-Anthony Towns, are going to be a problem.
“We talk about that kind of stuff all the time,” said Wiggins when asked about how the squad plan to take it to the next level.
“We’re taking it day by day for all that stuff. We’re just gaining more experience. Every game comes with more experience. We’re all getting older. Me and Zac are going to be in our third year, Karl’s going to be in his second year; so we know what to expect. And Kris Dunne just came to the team, too.The chemistry is building.”
