New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis is officially Team Adidas. The big man with guard skills inked with the brand after Nike failed to match their offer.
Last season, KP was seen rocking a variety of Nike Kobe X Elites, but quizzically never got blessed with a proper PE. No matter now, as Porzingis will be rocking the adidas Crazy Explosive while repping the three stripes.
adidas reportedly made a multi-million dollar offer, but Nike still had a chance to match. Now KP, so long as he keeps improving, could be on track to one day have his own signature shoe.
“I’m happy to be here and it just felt right to be with adidas. There’s a lot of excitement right now, and I feel like it’s the right fit for me,” said Porzingis via a press release. “A city like New York is hungry for success in basketball, and I believe adidas will help take my game to the next level. I’m a unique player and adidas is a unique brand. I’m just excited to join the family.”
Porzingis will be joining a stacked roster of adidas Basketball athletes that include Derrick Rose, Damian Lillard, Andrew Wiggins and James Harden, who just unveiled his Harden Vol. 1 signature sneaker.
