Killer Mike has been Hip-Hop’s most vocal figure in the current presidential election. But his words have been twisted and he’s here to clarify.

In an election that many people feel neither Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump are viable options, Killer Mike has presented Option C, “stay the f*ck home.” In an Instagram post, the rapper/activist encouraged potential voters to make demands of their politicians and to hold their votes if those demands weren’t being entertained or promised.

His message was directed at Black voters in Georgia, but since he has more than 260,000 followers internationally, many chose to read his post as telling everyone in the United States of America to stay home on election day.

Mike is usually very engaged with people who leave comments on his posts, good and bad. But this time, he chose to respond to everyone at the same time with a video post clarifying his stance.

He says: “You should vote locally. When you got to that booth, who are your prosecutors, who are your judges, who’s handling sanitation, who are your senators?”

“You should vote locally. When you got to that booth, who are your prosecutors, who are your judges, who’s handling sanitation, who are your senators?…Get out and vote. I’m just saying when you vote, ask for something back. The day after have your hat out saying ‘this is what my community needs.’”

The post did not endorse either candidate, but he did suggest that Clinton will win. Despite that prediction, the message should still be clear, go vote locally.
