MC Lyte gave a rare glimpse inside of her private life this past weekend when she posted a photo with her new boyfriend.
On Saturday, the veteran MC posted a photo of herself lovingly gazing into the eyes of an unidentified man. She included a heartfelt caption saying:

Of course, Lyte‘s fans and followers are more than happy for her, showering the post with thousands of supportive comments. The news is a bit of a shock to others as Lyte rarely shares details of her personal life. Her decision to keep her private life private as well as her strong support of the feminist movement has led to rumors surfacing of her being a lesbian. Because you know, if you’re pro-women and never seen with a man, yo must be gay, right? As recently as 2015, the rumor mills were romantically connecting her to singer Janelle Monae.
Lyte‘s exact relationship status with the unknown man is in the clouds as well. There are already reports saying that she is engaged and married. But all this picture tells us is that Lyte is in love and that she’s happy, which is all that matters.
Guess this is more proof that you can’t and shouldn’t believe everything on the internet. Congrats to Lyte and her guy.
