Dave Chappelle made another surprise appearance. This time he popped up at Chance The Rapper’s “Open Mike” event in Chicago.

“Open Mike” is an every-once-in-a-while show that Chance puts on to give budding artists in Chicago and chance to perform in front of a crowd. The comedian showed up to give an impromptu performance as well inspire the artists that were in attendance.

Among the gems Dave dropped was one about remembering what thing “feel like.”

“We need young artists out there,” he says. “People come up to me all the time and they say ‘Dave, you tell it like it is.’ No I dont. Everyday, I don’t know what it is. But I tell it like it feels like. People know so much information now, but they forget what things feel like. So the job of the artist is to remind them of themselves. Get them thinking again, get them feeling again.”

He went to tell the audience “you see who our president is” and that they are living in a very “important time.”

Chappelle wasn’t the only familair face in the building though. Cast members from BET’s The New Edition Story as well as Chicago Bulls player Jimmy Butler stopped by as well.
