On Thursday, the NAACP and BET announced that the iconic R&B New Edition and R&B legend Frankie Beverly will be among those honored at the 55th NAACP Image Awards hosted by Queen Latifah.

New Edition: The Movie is really happening (on BET), and some more notable Black actors have joined the cast. Among them, Wood Harris aka Avon Barksdale from The Wire, Duane Martin aka Kyle from Above The Rim and Faizon Love aka Big Worm from Friday.
BET’s forthcoming New Edition biopic may include a new album from the group for the first time in over a decade. In an interview with Billboard, Johnny Gill seemingly announced the news, revealing that he already “put aside songs” for a reunion project.
