New Edition was the R&B group that filled the soundtrack to our adolescent years with the kind of cuts that we still feel deep in our beings to this day.

Dave Chappelle made another surprise appearance. This time he popped up at Chance The Rapper’s “Open Mike” event in Chicago.

This miniseries was so good, we didn’t want it to end. The third and final episode of The New Edition Story gave what we all wanted, Bobby Brown acting up, the group(s) finding redemption and plenty of eye-opening tea.

News, Video

If you’ve been wondering why your TL’s been filled with references to New Edition for the past couple of nights, it’s because New Edition-mania is back… sort of.

The New Edition Story was still lit for episode 2 last night (Jan. 26). Bobby Brown was acting a fool, Mike Bivins got woke to the music business and Ralph Tresvant stayed all in his feelings.

The first part of BET’s The New Edition Story aired last night (Jan. 25), and as predicted Black Twitter was lit. Plenty of nostalgia flowed as we watched Bobby, Ricky, Ronnie, Mike and Ralph become a group.

Lost in the commotion of the BET Awards was the first peek at the network’s upcoming mini-series biopic on New Edition. The trailer looks dope.

New Edition: The Movie is really happening (on BET), and some more notable Black actors have joined the cast. Among them, Wood Harris aka Avon Barksdale from The Wire, Duane Martin aka Kyle from Above The Rim and Faizon Love aka Big Worm from Friday.

BET’s forthcoming New Edition biopic may include a new album from the group for the first time in over a decade. In an interview with Billboard, Johnny Gill seemingly announced the news, revealing that he already “put aside songs” for a reunion project.

Biopics about music stars are currently all the rage in Hollywood and on that high note, a New Edition biopic miniseries is being developed for BET.
