The Han Solo Star Wars prequel has officially started shooting. Considering Donald Glover will be starring as Lando Calrissian, this is a win #fortheculture.
According to the official Star Wars site filming began yesterday (Feb. 20) at Pinewood Studios in London.
The movie will be about the early adventures of Han Sol0, made famous Harrison Ford in the original trilogy, and his Wookie co-d Chewbacca. Also getting much shine will be Glover’s Calrissian, the character originally played by actor Billy Dee Williams.
The cast also includes Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Joonas Suotamo will be portraying Chewie. “Watching such inspired people from all over the world, with such unique voices, come together for the sole purpose of making art, is nothing short of miraculous, said film directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. “We can’t think of anything funny to say, because we just feel really moved, and really lucky.”
Still untitled for now, Han Solo Star Wars story is due in theaters May 25, 2018.
