The rapper who made the “Watch Me Whip, Watch Me Nae Nae” song is stuck in the United Arab Emirates for allegedly skipping out on shows.

The NWI Times reports that Silento failed to appear for two shows he was booked for. The promoter who booked him is demanding the teenage rapper pay him back the $85,000 he says he lost because of the no-shows.

Silento was scheduled for shows in Al Ain and the Emirati capital, Abu Dhabi, on Feb. 18, according to promoter Makki Taj El Sir Abdel Halim.

“He didn’t show up,” Halim said in an interview. “I just want to get my own money back. … I don’t want to ruin his reputation.”

Silento’s lawyer, Jenna Kadhum who is representing him in the Middle East, disputes the claims and says, “Silento did not cancel any shows at all.”

In addition to being asked to pay up $85,000, there has also been a travel ban placed on the rapper and his passport has been ordered to be turned over.

Silento seems to be making the most of his extended visit.

Of course, this isn’t new, rappers bail out on shows all the time. But when you pull stunts like that overseas, you may not get to come back home.
