Nia Long didn’t win any friends during her time on the set filming for the Fox network hit series, Empire, and was reportedly a nightmare to work with if the chatter is true. According to a new report, Long clashed with Taraji P. Henson to the point of silent standoffs and was also said to be routinely late to film scenes with her co-stars.

TMZ exclusively reports:

Nia Long was such a nightmare on the set of “Empire” … the hair and makeup folks lodged an official complaint against her, and Nia also threatened to sue the show over an improper goodbye … this according to well-placed production sources.

Multiple people — cast, crew and production people — tell TMZ Nia was disrespectful and unprofessional throughout her run on the show.

We broke the story … Nia and Taraji P. Henson were at war with each other because Taraji was irate over the way Nia treated the staff, and it got so bad producers were trying to figure out how to shoot scenes with the two of them where each actress did their part separately. It was so tense neither would speak to the other.

According to the outlet, the show’s hair and makeup staff filed just one work-related complaint and it was connected to Long. TMZ’s sources also added the Long was “habitually late” and often had Henson and Terrence Howard waiting 30 minutes or more to film a scene. The waits were so long that producers had to place a stand-in for Long for Henson and Howard to rehearse.

Long’s reps told TMZ that the claims are false and said that the timing of the news is suspect because the show returns to airwaves this week.
