Former two-time NBA All-Star champion Lamar Odom almost died in a brothel two years ago. Now he’s finally opening up about it.

In case you forgot, Odom was found unconscious at the Love Ranch brothel in October 2015 after he reportedly went on a binge of drugs, alcohol, and sex. He was taken to the hospital where he remained in a coma and was put on life support for a week.

He has since recovered from the almost deadly incident and completed rehab. Now, for the first time since that night, Odom is sharing details of what happened. Or at least what he can remember.

In a cover story with Us Weekly, Odom says that the night started with the idea of just getting out the house.

“I was home by myself. Bored. I wanted to get out and have a good time,” Odom recalls. “Looking back, I might have had a drink to get the mood started, but was I drunk or on drugs? Not at all. I remember lying in bed. Two women were in bed and then I fell asleep. That’s all. When I woke up four days later, I was trying to pull the tubes out of my mouth.”

The Las Vegas Sherrif’s office did say that Odom did use a small amount of cocaine and took 10 Viagra-like pills that he bought at the ranch. Odom and his representatives continued to deny that claim. Odom does admit that cocaine use did play a role in his eventual divorce from Khloe Kardashian.

“I was hiding it for a while, but then I got frustrated and was like, f**k it,” he said. “Around two years before we split up [in 2011], I was in the man cave [Khloe] had made for me and she caught me. She was disappointed. So was I. The sad thing about it is, I don’t know if I was disappointed because I was actually doing the drug or because she caught me. She knew I was doing cocaine the whole time after that. It was my drug of choice. I’m not going to say she accepted it because that would be the wrong word. Tolerated would be a better word.”

In an interview earlier this year, Odom says that he is not only focusing on living a sober lifestyle, but he also wants his wife back. Good luck with that.
