After spending seven winters and six summers locked down, Remy Ma’s resurgence in the rap game continues to garner her more well-deserved recognition. The latest acknowledgment came in the form of being named the Woman of The Year at the 2nd Annual Glitz and Girl Power Awards in Miami, Florida.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise as not only has Remy Ma been the hardest model citizen in Hip-Hop culture, but also done what she’s can to empower women while being one of the few females in the game who hasn’t twerked for attention.

For her speech, Remy reminded everyone in the room that when it seems like life caves in on you, that doesn’t mean you should give up.

“Every possible thing that you think can go wrong in your life, it happened to me, and I’m still here… and all of you have that same opportunity.”

Hopefully more of today’s youth will heed her words and become tomorrow’s trailblazers for coming generations.

Congrats, Ma.
