Uma Thurman came for her wig in Kill Bill Vol. 1 (literally), and Lucy Liu’s been holding down Elementary as “Joan Watson.” The Charlie’s Angels actress has been doing her thing behind the camera and is directing the season 2 premiere episode of the smash hit Netflix series Luke Cage.
Can’t say we saw that coming.
Vulture is reporting that like a method actor who envelops his/herself in whatever character they’re playing, Lucy Lui’s been preparing for her directorial duties by hanging out in Harlem earlier in the year to become more familiar with the culture and how she plans to put it on screen.
Last month Lucy and Luke Cage himself (Mike Colter) were photographed together at Harlem Coffee Co in Harlem. We’re assuming getting coffee was Luke’s idea. If you’re familiar with the show you’ll get that reference.
Season 2 of Marvel’s Luke Cage is set to premiere early next year but catch Luke giving all kinds of fades on August 18 in Marvel’s highly anticipated new series The Defenders on Netflix.
