While Power continues to thrive in its fourth season, 50 Cent has not lost sight on what made him a star. During an interview with Access Hollywood Live, Fif confirmed he has new music on the way.

During a press stop promoting the hit show, the G-Unit CEO stated that a new project will hit the streets this year.

“I have an album that I’ve been waiting to put out,” he said. “It’ll be [out at] the end of the year. It won’t be as smart as the JAY-Z record. I wanted to make music that people have fun to. You can get it immediately, without having to sit and analyze.”

This comes off the heels of 50’s recent criticism of Jay’s newest effort 4:44 where he called it “golf cart music”. He clarified the statement saying ““I said it was good; it was just too smart. I think you do gotta kinda dumb down the material to fit into what the culture is producing. Now, it’s a little more melody-driven. It’s not as sophisticated as it was when I first came in. I guess there’s a place for it” he elaborated.

Jackson did not shed any light whether or not this new album is indeed is Street King Immortal which has been in the works since 2012. In a 2016 Q&A with Muscle & Fitness he contemplated retiring after its release.
