The latest episode of Power (Season 4, episode 6) went left real quick, with epic moments that will be felt for the rest of the season. Major Spoilers below. You have been warned!

Tommy finally meets the Chicago connect. Jason Micic introduces himself, and quickly makes it known who’s the real boss.

He instructs Tommy to cut all ties with Ghost. Tommy, experiencing Felipe Lobos Deja Vu, makes it clear that he won’t kill Ghost, but will disassociate as requested. During a Chicago style celebration, Tommy waxes poetic on killing Milan, thanking Micic for approving the hit. Micic looked to return the favor, by drugging Tommy and driving him to the middle of nowhere to end his life!

Petar, surprisingly in Chicago too, informs Micic that Tommy killed Milan on his own accord without approval. A classic Power double cross, Tommy pleads his case, as Petar was there when Milan died and knew of the plan. Who would Micic believe? Asking his companion Tatiana to make the call, they kill Petar as Tommy was more believable. Now Tommy can possibly run operations in New York and Los Angeles, while staying alive.

Tommy’s near-death experience flashes images of Holly in his mind. Driving by Cleveland, he decided to stop at a random home for sale. The house was placed for sale by Holly’s uncle, who abused her as a child. Tommy enters the home to talk with the uncle as a potential buyer. Confronting the uncle about abusing Holly, the Uncle didn’t deny and placed blame on Holly for being “fast and wanting it”. Tommy took a bat to his head, claiming some semblance of redemption for Holly and himself.

Julio finally confronts Dre about meeting with Kanan. Dre lies and says he dissuaded Kanan to join the organization, while setting up a new Primera because Cristobal has to go. Dre uses cunning language to encourage Julio to meet with Dre’s new primeras alone and with input from Tommy. During this double cross, Dre meets with the Toros Locos and Cristobal to plan Julio’s demise. Ghost’s payment for Julio’s emancipation from the gang without death was nullified once Ghost got out the game. Julio enters the meeting place, when he’s confronted by his former brothers, jumped and eventually killed. Julio went out like a g, as we lost another original season 1 character. Hasta Luego, manito!

Kanan finally sees his plan come to fruition. Jukebox is putting pressure on him to capture Ghost, extort him, and bring him back to the safe house to kill both Ghost and Tariq. Kanan hesitates at first, but finally gets the drop on Ghost and forces him to drive to their location. In order for Ghost to get money, he has to rob one of Tommy’s stash houses (!). Kanan promises no one will get hurt, but it’s Kanan so the robbery left casualties. On the way to meet Jukebox and Tariq, Kanan and Ghost speak on their past. Ghost tells Kanan that he loved him like a brother, and the only way to get him out the picture was by death or incarceration, so they sent Kanan to jail.

Walking into the house, Ghost continuously pleads for Tariq’s life. Kanan, feeling uncharacteristically magnanimous, gives Ghost a loaded weapon and told him that he could use it on Kanan, or to free Tariq. Ghost walks in with Kanan and pleads to Jukebox to free Tariq. Once Ghost reaches for the gun, Jukebox threatens Tariq and forces Kanan to confess. Kanan confesses to the setup, to killing Shawn, and to his true background. During the speech, Kanan gets the drop on Jukebox and kills her! Kanan spares Ghost and Tariq’s life at the expense of his own cousin, and leaves with the money in tow.

Tommy is coming back to a complete mess. Where do Ghost and Tariq go from here? Will Stern’s proposition of partnership to forgive his loan prove worrisome? Can Ghost and Tasha trust each other ever again? What will Kanan do next? We’ll find out next week!
