Eminem’s manager has a new side gig, or main job. Paul Rosenberg has been named the new CEO of Def Jam Records

Variety reports that Rosenberg has accepted the top spot at the seminal Hip-Hop label.

However, according to Hits Daily Double, the Detroit native won’t take the reigns of the label officially until January 1, 2018. Until then, Steve Bartels will continue to run the label.

A  lawyer, Rosenberg is the co-founder of Shady Records, a partner in Elliott Wilson’s RapRadar.com and CEO of Goliath Management. He will continue to manage Eminem.

Rosenberg inherits a diverse roster that includes Big Sean, Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Jhene Aiko, 2 Chainz and Elijah Blake, among others.

Let us know what you think of this forthcoming chapter in Def Jam’s history in the comments.
