King Bey. has not forgotten Houston. Beyoncé has announced that she plans to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

On August 28 the “Sorry” singer took to her Instagram to send support to her Hometown. The post featured the Texas flag with a message saying “TEXAS YOU ARE IN MY PRAYERS.” It received over a million likes in a matter of hours.

But besides talking about it Beyoncé is being about it. According to a recent interview with The Houston Chronicle Bey is working on a strategy to maximize her efforts in order to send aid to the crippled city.

“My heart goes out to my hometown, Houston, and I remain in constant prayer for those affected and for the rescuers who have been so brave and determined to do so much to help. I am working closely with my team at BeyGOOD as well as my pastor (Rudy Rasmus at St. John’s in downtown Houston) to implement a plan to help as many as we can.”

Founded in 2013, the BeyGOOD foundation’s mission is to “set an example of giving back and paying it forward while empowering others to do the same with what they have in their own communities.” Earlier this year the non-profit organization announced a program to help solve the clean water problems in Burundi; a landlocked country in the continent of Africa.

Salute to Mrs. Carter for stepping up for Houston. Hopefully, this will only fuel more contributions from celebrities and everyday citizens alike.
