It’s a sad day for devoted UGK fans. According to Bun B’s wife, the archive of the music created by her husband and the late, great Pimp C were destroyed by Hurricane Harvey.

On Wednesday (Aug. 30), Bun’s wife Queenie shared via an Instagram post that Pimp C’s son was stranded at his grandmother’s house.

The post was deleted but reposted by Chinara Butler, Pimp C’s widow. The original message reveals that Lil Chad was near a reservoir that was overflowing.

Additionally, it added that “all archives of UGK that was left is now gone.”

First and foremost, we’re hopeful Lil Chad and his fam are safe. But the potential loss of a priceless treasure trove of UGK music definitely stings.

However, it is unknown what exactly was lost. Butler provided the following statement via her press rep.

Mrs. Butler’s memorabilia and archivable items are safe and in secured locations. We can not confirm the information being spoken on Chad Jr’s behalf because Chinara does not know what items were at the residence in question, nor has she spoken with him to confirm the loss and what it entailed. Chinara’s only purpose in posting the information in question was share the address in the post and use her resources to send help. She was able to do that, and is now focused on being part of the solution.

Also worth noting, Bun B is hosting a Hurricane Harvey telethon to raise funds for victims.
