Swizz Beatz To Teach At NYU

Super Producer Swizz Beatz is joining a new roster, no not a record label, but a college roster-of teachers that is.

According to published reports, The Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music at New York University has appointed Swizz Beatz as the department’s first Producer-in-Residence.

“I’m excited to be able to take my many years of experience in the music business and use it as an example to instruct students,” Swizz Beatz said in a statement. “The invitation from Mr. Davis and Professor Rabhan is humbling and I’m honored.”

The new appointment is scheduled to begin immediately and gives students the luxury of his expertise for 2010-2011 school year.

Swizz Beatz’ amazing track record as an artist and producer, coupled with his commitment to education, makes him the ideal role model for our students,” Jeffrey Rabhan, chair, The Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music  said.  “We consider it a great honor to have him involved with this unique program.”

As a Producer-in-Residence, Swizzy’s role will be to guide students through a variety of portals, including one-on-one sessions, group lectures, songwriting critiques, and mentoring.

In addition to helping students, Swizzy is also giving away free music to fans.

According to Swizzy, every Monday starting November 1 fans will receive exclusive new downloads to support his upcoming project.
