Aretha Franklin Diagnosed With Cancer
Fox 2 in Detroit has confirmed that Aretha Franklin has cancer.
A close relative of the legendary singer tells reporter Al Allen that they are very concerned and while the National Enquierer claims that she has pancreatic cancer, that news has yet to be confirmed.
Aretha’s family says she is doing “OK,” but they are still asking for continued prayers and support.
Last week the singer had a surgery for unknown reasons.
Though deeming the procedure as a success, Franklin canceled all appearances through May 2011 due to medical concerns.
The following statement was released by Aretha Franklin after her surgery, as previously reported.
“The surgery was highly successful. God is still in control. I had superb doctors and nurses whom were blessed by all the prayers of the city and the country. God bless you all for your prayers!”
More details on her condition are set to be released later today.
