According to Radaronline.com, a boxing promoter offered Mark Wahlberg and Will Smith $1,000,000 dollars to get in the ring for a celebrity boxing match.

Damon Feldman, the head of the Hollywood Boxing Federation, is offering a million to each of the stars to show that they cannot just portray boxers, but actually be them too.

Wahlberg has recently portrayed a boxer in his latest film “The Fighter,” which opened on in theaters this past Friday.  Smith has also played a boxer in “Ali” in which Will played Muhammad Ali in 2001.

Although the Hollywood Boxing Federation has set up celebrity fights before, they believe this fight will be more intriguing, because both actors were professionally trained for their films.

Mark Whalberg told Sports Illustrated Magazine,

“I spent more money paying my trainers and having them travel with me than I got paid, by a good half a million dollars.”

Under Feldman’s proposal, Wahlberg and Smith would fight three one-minute rounds. Regulation amateur boxing rounds are normally three minutes long.

“We don’t think these two are going to rip each others heads off, we’re just hoping to get into the ring and have a little fun duking it out.”
