Legendary New York producer DJ Premier is being sued over a 2006 track he produced for Christina Aguilera by a company claiming they were shorted publishing for the use of a sample.

TufAmerica Inc. has filed a lawsuit for copyright infringement over the use of the sample in the Premier produced, “Aint No Other Man” on Aguilera’s 2006 Back To Basics LP.

The track uses an excerpt from “Hippy Skippy Moon Strut,” by Dave Cortez & The Moon People.

TufAmerica alleges that bought the rights to the song two years prior to Back to Basics’ release and while Sony obtained sample clearance from Codigo Music and the Clyde Otis Music Group, it did not clear it with them.

TufAmerica is seeking punitive damages, asking for an injunction, and also asking that Sony void the rights of the other publishing companies as well.
