Artist Creates Portrait Of Muhammad Ali Using Punching Bags
A Los Angeles artist named Michael Kalish has come up with one of the greatest pieces of artwork to honor “The Greatest” Muhammad Ali.
Kalish used 1,300 punching bags hanging from stainless steel wires to form the face of Ali. From different angles the view of the art arrangement may look like wires and bags, but from the front, the champions image is clear and distinct.
The exhibit entitled “reALIze” will be officially unveiled on March 25 in downtown Los Angeles.
The 38-year-old artist stated, “I love turning ordinary objects into extraordinary works of art…This is an opportunity of a lifetime and I’m honored I could create this monument to pay homage to such an incredible man.”
