Tyler, The Creator Detained, Not Arrested

Odd Future frontman Tyler, The Creator had a run in the law while promoting his album, Goblin, yesterday.

While many news sources reported that the rapper was arrested Monday at Westchester High in the Los Angeles area, according to MTV News, it’s more like Tyler was handcuffed, had his skateboard confiscated, and let go by police, without an arrest.

Tyler later expressed his frustration on Twitter, saying, “F**K COPS. F**K POLICE F**K YOU ALL I HOPE YOU ALL DIE. I WILL NEVER RESPECT YOU. PIGS.”

According to Odd Future publicist Heathcliff Berru, Tyler was neither arrested nor charged with anything.

Tyler’s “secret” album release show at the Troubadour club in West Hollywood was held Monday night as planned.

OFWGKTA singer/songwriter Frank Ocean also had a recent encounter with LAPD, and was arrested and released late last month.

It looks like Odd Future is getting a taste of both the ups and downs of their newfound celebrity.
