White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs rebuked allegations made by former President Jimmy Carter that racism is the undercurrent of the recent Anti-Obama backlash.

A stammering and seemingly unconvinced Gibbs stood before the press at the White House and said, “The president does not believe that … that … [pause] that criticism comes based on the color of his skin.” He added, “we understand that people disagree with some of the decisions that we’ve made.”

Gibbs face said: “but I do.”

The wisdom of an 85-year-old man is undeniable, but the wisdom from an 85-year-old man, who once occupied the White House and also happens to be white, can be considered truth, period.

“I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity towards President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he’s African-American,” Carter said.

Come on, he was the President which means he has to be politically and socially aware. He’s speaking the truth and quite frankly one of the few who are willing to admit the sentiment many Americans share.

“The belief among many white people, not just in the South but around the country, that African-Americans are not qualified to lead this great country,” Carter said.

Okay we get it, Obama can’t pull the scapegoat race card as the President of the United States because it would completely undermine the strides he’s made thus far.

While race is a subject Obama chose not to acknowledge with frequency, the fact of the matter remains. Folks were not ready to see a black man in office and they are masking their anger with health care reform and tax concerns.

They’ve even got some support from shucking and jiving Michael Steele. “This is a pathetic distraction by Democrats to shift the attention away from the president’s wildly unpopular government-run health care plan.”

But just a word to the white people and Steele, if it’s anything black folks know how to do, it’s make dollars out of 15 cents and make something out of nothing, so chill and be easy! The black president is going to flip this debt, watch.
