It’s been some time since images surfaced of André 3000 in full-on Jimi Hendrix garb. The highly anticipated film, All Is By My Side, is slated to open September 26, but here’s the trailer to whet appetites for the moment.
Upon further review, it appears that Hip-Hop Wired’s André 3000 sighting at the 2014 Governors Ball Music Festival was just one of many. Instagram users actually flooded the social media site with photos of the often reclusive MC in an array of scenarios.
André 3000, one half of the eclectic duo Outkast, was spotted simply being a fan at the 2014 Governors Ball Festival in New York City less than 24 hours after demolishing the the main stage on Friday night (June 6). And Hip-Hop Wired got word that his solo album is in the works.
It all started back back in 1993, when R&B/Soul oriented label LaFace Records took a chance on signing a duo of teenaged rappers from Atlanta called OutKast based on their work with in-house production outfit Organized Noize.
Of the songs missing from the stream of Future’s Honest LP unveiled earlier this week, “Benz Friendz (Watchutola),” featuring André 3000 was most missed. But that changes today, as the full record hits the Internets.

André 3000 is clearly an eclectic MC but we bet you didn’t see this coming. Aretha Franklin recently revealed that she is working with the OutKast rapper and actor, and Babyface, on new music.
The first footage of André 3000 portraying Jimi Hendrix in the forthcoming biopic All Is By My Side has been revealed. The film will have it’s U.S. premiere at the upcoming South By Southwest festival.
Thanks to his low key demeanor, and the whole acting thing, André 3000 is rarely seen on the scene. But Saturday night (January 25), the OutKast rapper was spotted in Atlanta nightspot Compound.

As you may or may not know, Billboard reported that Outkast planned to reunite at Coachella 2014 and perhaps more shows afterwards. Of course, this was all hearsay from anonymous sources, but a few recent photos of Andre “André 3000” Benjamin and Antwan “Big Boi” Patton together may add some validity to those rumors.
