When Drake unveiled the cover for his upcoming album, Nothing Was The Same,  Wednesday (August 21) evening, it didn’t take long for the Internets to go in with the slander. As expected, the jokes came within moments of the artwork’s big reveal. 

Drake‘s forthcoming new album, Nothing Was The Same, caught a slight speed bump since its release date was bumped back by a week. In perhaps a way to appease his fans, the YMCMB rapper has revealed the project’s cover artwork, which actually has two versions.

Drake’s new album has been pushed back, but there is no need to panic. Nothing Was The Same will now be dropping a week later while the YMCMB and OVO MC will be performing his hit “Started From The Bottom” at this week’s MTV Video Music Awards in Brooklyn.

Recently, The Weeknd revealed that talk of him and Drake falling out was highly exaggerated. The Toronto singer’s new single, “Live For,” features Drizzy and backs up his claims that OVO and XO are getting along just fine. 

Nothing Was The Same is a phrase applicable to more than Drake‘s highly anticipated album. It also accurately describes the rapper’s relationship with Kanye West since the two squashed their beef at this year’s OVO Fest. Drizzy did Yeezy a favor by performing at Kylie Jenner’s (Kim Kardashian’s little sister) lavish sweet 16 extravaganza.

Drake’s new album, Nothing Was The Same, is inching closer to release and some more details are creeping in. Jay Z has been confirmed as one of the album’s featured guests. 

During a recent appearance of MTV RapFix Live, Ma$e said the only two artists he would ever consider signing with were Kanye West and Drake. While at OVO Fest, where the former Bad Boy rapper reunited with Diddy on stage, Drizzy spoke on the possibility of that happening. 

The details surrounding the forthcoming Big Tymers album are quite bewildering. Even Drake — said to be the group’s newest member along with Lil Wayne — was vexed when MTV asked him about the project after the fourth annual OVO Fest.

Following the star studded 4th annual OVO Fest, Drake sat with MTV to discuss his new single “Hold On We’re Going Home,” the inspiration behind the track, and OVO’s latest signees Majid Jordan.

If never before, recent events suggest that it’s Drake‘s time to flourish. In support of his highly anticipated album Nothing Was The Same (due out September 17), the YMCMB superstar appears on the cover of XXL magazine’s 150th issue.
